Caring for God’s Creation – 4 October 2011

Winchester Diocese is running a workshop entitled “Caring for God’s Creation: a Christian response to stewarding the place we inhabit” on 4th October 2011, and everyone is invited.

Working in partnership with David Morgan of A Rocha this day will provide a number of ways for churches to develop their mission in caring for God’s world including:

  • Equipping, encouraging and facilitating your church to move further along their journey of greening
  • Exploring and sharing your own church’s journey in caring for creation
  • Reflecting theologically on our care of creation and its impact on justice and mission
  • Thinking through what practical steps a church can take to care for God’s creation

The day will include good practice from two parishes already actively involved in developing their stewardship of creation as a genuine outworking of their discipleship.

When: Tuesday 4 October 9.45 am to 4.00 pm
Where: Old Alresford Place
Cost: £10

To book and for further inforation visit: http://dandm.winchester.anglican.org/node/305

The objective for this day is to encourage and facilitate churches to take more seriously the challenge to care for God’s world and to assist them to move further along that journey by providing thinking, approaches, sharing stories and tools.

David Morgan, who will be leading this day, is a semi-retired management consultant who has a passion for encouraging Christians and churches to fulfil their calling regarding God’s creation. David (with his wife Jean) are regional representatives for A Rocha – the Christian nature conservation organisation.
