The Transition Network reports that a recent survey of allotment waiting lists in England has found that the average waiting list has increased from 49 to 59 people waiting per 100 plots (a 20% increase) and there is no sign that the increase in demand for allotments is slowing down.
An Early Day Motion has been submitted by Bob Russell MP asking
“… the Government, local authorities, other public bodies and private landlords to make land available for new allotments.”
People are encouraged to check if their MP has signed the motion and thank them if they have and if they haven’t to ask them to support the EDM.
