Want to reduce carbon emissions in your community?
As part of Oxfordshire County Council’s Low Carbon Communities programme, Oxfordshire Rural Community Council and ClimateX have launched a carbon reduction competition.
With start-up funding available for competition groups and a prize fund of £1500, entries are invited from new or recently formed community groups who want to take action on climate change.
Your group will be trained by Carbon Conversations, a tried and tested means of getting people active in stopping climate change and driving down carbon emissions. As part of the challenge your group would measure its carbon emissions in October 2010 and again in May 2011 – with the groups demonstrating the biggest reductions winning prizes!
